Walter Tosto has successfully completed the manufacturing of a very challenging piece of proprietary Topsoe equipment for ammonia production: a stainless steel ammonia converter basket.

The supply of this important equipment was entrusted to us by our valued partner Haldor Topsoe, a global leader in supply of catalysts, technology, and services to the chemical and refining industries.

Given the details and the number of components of the ammonia converter basket, the manufacturing phase was very demanding, requiring strict tolerances on dimensions and a particular fabrication sequence.

The ammonia converter basket has been manufactured in our facilities in Chieti and our Ortona seafront workshop, and it has recently been shipped by sea to reach the end-user’s ammonia plant.
