Genoa, May 30 – 31, 2019. Walter Tosto takes part in the tenth edition of the National Welding Days (GNS10), a biennial event organized by the Italian Welding Institute (IIS).

About 1500 welding technicians and metallurgists coming from all over Europe are participating at the event.

Tommaso Di Giamberardino, Welding Engineer of Walter Tosto SpA, presented to about 200 people, a research carried out by the company in collaboration with the IIS on the weldability of FeCrAl alloys on 800H material, in order to develop this application on heat exchangers containing liquid lead (operating temperatures around 750-800 degrees).

This study was carried out in the scope of the NexTower project, in which Walter Tosto participates as a partner. This research project aims to overcome the current technical limit for concentrated solar power (CSP) air-based tower, given by the very high temperature, through the use of liquid lead heat exchangers.
