Chamber of Deputies, Wednesday, February 1, 2017. The Productive Activities Commission conducted the intervention of Prof. Federico Testa, President of Enea, on the development of the Divertor Tokamak Test facility (DTT) project. This program aims to study alternative solutions to the problem of thermal loads in the demo, through the realization of a particular machine.
Italian companies are world leaders in the field of nuclear fusion technologies, explained Federico Testa during his speech: “We are facing a high challenge from a technological and plant design point of view: with nuclear fusion we will be able to produce clean, secure and sustainable energy that will bring significant economic resources in our country. Consider that over the past two years, we brought to Italy 984 million € of technology contracts only for the ITER project”.
